How it works

Tile defects compound — a moisture error at the mixer becomes a crack at the kiln. So tyle.tech doesn’t bolt one camera onto the end of your line. It places a dedicated model at each stage, catching problems where they start instead of after firing.

01

Batch & mix

Every tile begins as a slurry of clays, feldspar, and water. Get the body composition or moisture wrong here and it resurfaces later as a crack, a warp, or a shade that won’t match. tyle.tech models each batch against spec in real time and flags drift before the material is ever pressed.

→ Fewer defects baked in before forming
02

Press & form

As the die presses each tile, thickness and flatness quietly wander with pressure and tooling wear. Dimensional vision measures every pressed tile and catches warping or thickness drift the moment it starts — so you correct the press instead of discovering the problem after firing.

→ Catch die wear before it becomes scrap
03

Glaze

Glaze defects are the ones your customers actually see. High-speed cameras inspect the full glazed surface at belt speed — pinholes, pooling, thin coverage, and color variance — grading every tile rather than a sampled handful pulled once an hour.

→ 100% of the surface inspected, not a sample
04

Fire

The kiln is the most expensive and least forgiving step on the line. tyle.tech models the firing curve against both energy use and defect rate, then recommends adjustments per body and glaze — trimming energy per square meter while reducing thermal cracking and crazing.

→ Lower energy per m², fewer thermal defects
05

Sort & box

Even after a clean firing, tiles vary in shade and grade. Final vision sorts every tile into true color lots and quality grades, so a pallet ships as one consistent batch and installers never open two boxes that don’t match.

We’ll map where your yield is leaking and model the lift before you commit to anything. Most audits pay for the first quarter of deployment.
